FOUNDATION

Georgian Peaks Foundation

The Georgian Peaks Foundation is the official fundraising arm of our Club – driven by Members, for Members. Governed by an independent board of Club Members, the Foundation supports projects that strengthen our community and enhance the Peaks experience. Annual events like the Winter Auction, Fall Golf Tournament, and Adult Racing Calcutta are at the heart of our fundraising efforts. Members are encouraged to propose and lead special projects aligned with Club priorities. All funds raised are thoughtfully allocated with oversight from the Club’s Board, guided by transparent processes and respectful donor recognition. Join us in shaping the future of Georgian Peaks – your voice, your Impact.

Proposing a Project

Step one:

All project suggestions must be submitted in writing. Club Management has developed an application form to help Members put forward ideas for Foundation-supported projects.

Foundation Application

Step two:

Once the application is submitted, Club Management will review the proposal and work with the Member to refine details and preliminary costs. Management will then prepare a draft budget that includes future operating implications and refer the proposal to the appropriate committees — including Finance, and if related to outside operations, the Property & Hill Committee — for consideration in light of their respective mandates.

Step three:

The Foundation Committee will consider whether the proposed project is consistent with the Foundation’s goals. If it is, the Committee will determine the extent to which the Foundation can fund the project and, if it is a Member proposal, whether additional member-led fundraising will be required. Depending on Foundation resources, matching may be 2:1, 1:1, or another proportion, determined on a case-by-case basis. The Foundation may commit funds from both the current and next year’s budget, but will not commit funds further into the future.

Step four:

If committee approval in principle is obtained and clarity is reached around funding (including whether a Member fundraising campaign is needed), the Foundation will recommend the project to the Board for approval. Once approved, the Foundation will work with the sponsoring Member on a fundraising strategy if required. For projects of more than modest value, the sponsoring Member will be expected to form a small committee of interested Members to assist in fundraising efforts, with the Foundation providing the balance of required funds.
