Hello Peaks Family,

I am very excited to announce that the Club will reopen on Thursday, February 18th for skiing and riding!

Please take the time to review the following information to ensure you are fully aware of Club operations. We will continue to provide updates as we work through our re-opening process.

Operating Days, Time, Lifts and Trails

We will reopen on Thursday, February 18th and the Club will operate Thursday to Sunday through to the Easter weekend April 1st to 5th. At this time, we do not have plans to open for the rescheduled March Break April 19th to 23rd. We are reviewing how to treat the old March Break schedule with the potential to open different days throughout the month.

Champlain, Rogers, Minute Mile and Bay Street chairlift will be running with the majority of our trails open. Check the Conditions page on our website for daily trail updates. Conditions will be excellent thanks to the natural snow and our great Snowmaking and Grooming Teams.

Chairlifts will operate according to our usual schedule - please click HERE.

New Chairlift Protocols

The protocol for riding the chairlift was revised during the shutdown. Please review the following before you get into the lift line. These regulations apply to quad chairs.

o If everyone riding is from the same household, the chair can be full.

NEW - Members of different households can ride together with one seat between them (i.e. two people from the same household may ride with one person from a different household with one empty seat between them).

o In special situations when a rider requires assistance to safely ride the lift, this space restriction is not necessary. This includes riders in U12 Programs and younger. They may ride the chairlift with other Program participants and their Instructor/Coach.

COVID-19 Protocols - Please read carefully

We are all very excited to be back skiing and snowboarding and we want to enjoy the Club for the rest of the season. We will all have to do our part to help make sure we can stay open. This means following all safety protocols and ensuring that all members of your household are doing the same. Staff will be reminding Members of the protocols, but as a community, we need to share responsibility to ensure the Club remains safe and we can continue to operate.

As a reminder, safety protocols include the following (click HERE for the Members Handbook)

BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE CLUB

All Members and Guests are required to:

 1. Complete the daily health screening prior to arriving at the Club. This can be found on our website or through the Georgian Peaks App (Club House Online) and must be filled out for each individual family member and guest coming to the Club each day. Please do not come to the Club if you are feeling unwell.

 2. Follow provincial health guidelines to maintain personal health and avoid the spread of COVID-19.

FACE MASKS/COVERINGS

Members, Staff and Guests are required to wear face coverings at all times when in lift lines and when loading or unloading a chairlift. A face mask is required inside all buildings and face coverings or face masks are recommended when walking through crowded outdoor areas. Read the Town of the Blue Mountains Mask/Face Covering By-Law here. Back up face masks will be available at each Lodge entrance.

Face Coverings: Buffs/neck warmers that limit the transmission of respiratory droplets must be worn outside while in a lift line, on a chairlift or if approached by Ski Patrol.

Face Masks: Are to be worn when inside buildings and only removed when actively eating or drinking while sitting. Click HERE for Health Canada’s latest mask recommendations and guidelines.

PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING

Keep a 2 meter distance between you and anyone outside of your household. Keep this in mind at the top of all the lifts! These areas are natural gathering points and create a challenge to skier flow. With COVID it’s even more important to keep your socializing at the top of the lift to a minimum and make sure you have your face mask on!

Alpine Programs

The Alpine Program Team is in the process of confirming weekend program details and will advise the Membership the week of February 15th. Please note that most Programs will begin on the weekend of Feb 20/21, with O-Cup starting on Feb 18, and Snow Bears/Polar Bears and Adult Programs starting the weekend of Feb 27/28. All Programs will be a half-day format, with potentially different times on Saturdays versus Sundays.

Private lessons will be available starting February 20th with details on booking private lessons provided in next week’s update.

Building and Locker Access

The New Lodge will be open seven days a week beginning Tuesday, February 16th. This includes badge pick up and locker access.

Please complete all the requirements prior to coming to the Club to pick up your badge. These include:

 - Payment of all annual fees
 - Club Waiver signed
 - Club Code of Conduct signed
 - Club COVID Health Questionnaire

Download the Clubhouse app for the COVID health questionnaire that must be completed each day for you, each family member and guests.

Locker protocols can be found in our Member COVID Handbook here.

Guest Visits and Reservations

Weekends and Holidays: There will be no Guests EXCEPT the children and immediate family of Members and their significant others.

Weekdays: No guest restrictions.

Reservations and Caps: There will be a daily maximum to the number of guests. Guests will need to be pre-booked on-line by Wednesday of that week. Further details can be found in the Member COVID Handbook here.

Club exchange tickets: All Escarpment Clubs are suspending exchanges for the 2020-21 season.

Food Service/Bar Service

When we reopen next week we will be permitted to offer food and beverage services. The F&B Team is confirming with the Grey Bruce Health Unit the details of what may be offered. We are also facing the challenge of securing kitchen staff as the shutdown in December forced some layoffs. We will provide an update early next week.

See you on the slopes!
